Job description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Claims Handler to join our clients dynamic company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing insurance claims from inception to resolution, ensuring timely and fair processing. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional service to our policyholders.

Description

The key responsibilities for the Claims Handler role is:

  1. Claims Processing:

    • Receive and assess insurance claims, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
    • Investigate and evaluate claims to determine coverage and liability.
  2. Customer Interaction:

    • Communicate with policyholders, claimants, and other relevant parties to gather information and provide updates on claim status.
    • Address inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
  3. Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and organised claim files, ensuring all relevant documents are recorded.
    • Prepare and submit reports on claims activities as required.
  4. Coverage Determination:

    • Analyse policy coverage and interpret terms and conditions to determine the extent of liability.
    • Collaborate with other departments to resolve coverage-related issues.
  5. Settlement Negotiation:

    • Negotiate settlements with claimants in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines.
    • Collaborate with legal and investigative teams when necessary.
  6. Compliance and Regulations:

    • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and changes in regulations.
  7. Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct thorough reviews of claims to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards.
    • Implement process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.

Profile

The successful candidate for the Claims Handler:

  • Proven experience as a Claims Handler.
  • Knowledge of policies, coverage, and claim procedures.
  • Strong analytically and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficient in using claims management software.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
