The Role: Claims Handler/ Senior Claims Handler
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Claims Handler/Senior Claims Handler. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years (for Claims Handler) and 6 years (for Senior Claims Handler) of experience in London market insurance claims and possess in-depth knowledge of the ECF/CLASS system.
You will provide a quality Claims service to Citynet’s Agents and Underwriters in order to ensure the Customer is treated fairly in all transactions and correspondence and for that service to encourage the client to continue using Citynet and contribute to the future success of the company. In this crucial position, you will be responsible for managing and resolving a diverse portfolio of claims, focusing on but not limited to Liability (EL, PL), Professional Indemnity, Property, and CAR (Contractors All Risks) claims.
Responsibilities:
- Claim Management: Effectively handle end-to-end claims process, from initial notification to settlement, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Specialised Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in managing liability, professional indemnity, property, and CAR claims, staying abreast of industry trends and changes in regulations.
- Communication: Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders throughout the claims lifecycle, providing regular updates and addressing inquiries.
- Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with claimants, legal representatives, and third-party service providers to achieve fair and cost-effective claim resolutions.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with clients, underwriters, and external partners to enhance collaboration and streamline claims processes.
- Compliance: Adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards, ensuring that all claims activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Mentorship (Senior Claims Handler): Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team, sharing expertise and facilitating professional development within the team.
- Prepare and maintain accurate claims documentation, including correspondence, reports, and records.
- Processing of subsequent advice and payment requests on ECF/CLASS
- Manage and processing monthly claims bordereaux for selected insurers as requested
- To instruct solicitors/adjusters where required
- To report any claim exceeding GBP250,000 to Claims Manager
- To report any claim where you identify, or have been advised of, potential coverage issue to Claims Manager
- Assisting in ad hoc claims projects to improve the company’s claims service
- Support the claims manager as and when required
- Support the continuous improvement of claims handling procedures and contribute to enhancing overall department efficiency.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years (for Claims Handler) and 6 years (for Senior Claims Handler) in London Market insurance claims.
- Minimum of Cert CII qualified
- Reliable
- Proficient in the use of the ECF/CLASS system for claims processing.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures within the London market.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
