Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and responsible Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team in for our contracts based across All Edinburgh and The Lothians Postcodes. The ideal candidate should have a valid Class 2 HGV license and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism. You will play a critical role in the transportation of goods, ensuring on-time deliveries and adhering to all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safe and Efficient Driving: Operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
2. Delivery and Collection: Transport goods, materials, or products to and from various locations in the Central Belt of Scotland, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and collection.
3. Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries, collections, and any required paperwork, such as delivery notes and logbooks.
5. Load Securing: Safely secure and unsecure loads to prevent shifting, spillage, or damage during transportation.
6. Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with customers and clients when delivering or collecting goods.
7. Route Planning: Efficiently plan routes, considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.
8. Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with the dispatch team, reporting any issues or delays promptly.
9. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant HGV regulations, including tachograph rules, driving hours, and load weight limits.
10. Vehicle Maintenance: Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and promptly report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
11. **Safety: **Prioritize safety at all times, following company safety policies and practices to reduce accidents and incidents.
Requirements:
1. Valid Class 2 HGV license.
2. Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
3. Digital Tachograph Card.
4. Strong knowledge of HGV driving regulations and best practices.
5. Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
6. Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious.
7. Good physical fitness for loading and unloading tasks.
8. Effective communication skills.
9. Reliable and punctual.
10. Knowledge of the Central Belt Scotland road network is a plus.
