About Us & The Role
At Race Leys Infant School, we cater for children from 4 years to 7 years. We are a happy, forward thinking school, passionate about ensuring all children have access to the highest quality education in a safe and stimulating environment.
Race Leys Infant School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic SENDCO to join our teaching and leadership team. We are looking for someone who is committed to high standards and who has high expectations for both attainment and achievement. This is a full time, permanent teaching position with weekly dedicated time out of class for SEND responsibilities. This is an exciting time to join the Race Leys Infant School family who are on their journey to improving learning opportunities and provision for the children. Our school community deserves the absolute best and our new Co-Headteachers and staff have been on a rapid school improvement journey. The successful candidate will:
• Have a proven track record of leading the learning and provision for learners with SEND.
• Be able to work with the strategic vision of the school to drive changes and improvements for our children with SEND.
• Provide excellent support as SENCO, being qualified with QTS and NASENCO, or be willing to work towards this.
• Work with our team of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.
• Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and potential.
• Is willing to contribute positively to the life of the school and its community.
• Have excellent communication, collaboration and organisation skills.
• Have a creative approach to teaching and learning that will inspire, challenge and motivate all learners to reach high levels of achievement.
• Can offer proven good or outstanding practice in teaching and learning in the Foundation Stage or KS1.
• Is cheerful, enthusiastic and creative
