Job Advert: Classroom Support Worker

Contract Length: Until 07/06
Pay Rate: £12.78 per hour
Hours: 8:45 AM - 4:00/4:30 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays (may vary depending on workload)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Classroom Support for learners to enable access to the curriculum, including note taking, prompting, reading, and scribing.
- Assist in the arrangement of assessments and exams as required.
- Monitor learner support needs and provide appropriate assistance.
- Organize and prioritize technical/Classroom Support to meet service requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting procedures.
- Take responsibility for continued professional development.
- Liaise with teaching staff to facilitate student learning.
- Enable learners to access a range of assistive technology and resources.
- Support learners in their use of equipment and assistive software.
- Provide feedback to the Access & Educational Support Team on learner support needs.
- Organize workload to meet learner requirements efficiently.
- Maintain quality procedures for the organization and coordination of technical support and administration.
- Contribute to the maintenance of statistics to support monitoring, review, and evaluation of the service provided by the College.
- Undertake related administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- PVG Certificate required (Costs £59)
- Previous experience of working with people with disabilities or other support needs.
- Experience of working in an educational environment.
- HNC level qualification or educational comparability.
- Computer literate - good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Strong communication skills (spoken and written).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to prioritise workload.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Commitment to College ethos.
