We are seeking a Clerk of Works with a focus on Fire Safety to provide technical expertise and supervise the delivery of work action programmes for Kirklees Council Housing. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of building and fire safety and contributing to the continuous improvement within the service.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Provide technical expertise on building and fire safety.
- Supervise contractors and specialist suppliers, ensuring records of installation and robust handover of completed works.
- Inspect work in progress, provide technical guidance, and support to installers.
- Conduct weekly reviews of work progress, report on programme status, and highlight risks with mitigation strategies.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout installation stages and accurate records are kept.
- Provide specialist technical fire safety advice on scope and specification.
- Resolve on-site technical queries and ensure operational aspects of the service area are delivered.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ONC/HND in Built Environment, or willingness to undertake.
- Fire Safety qualifications – Level 2 NVQ diploma in Passive Fire Protection or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Good computer literacy to use various software packages.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding legislation.
- Good team working skills and the ability to work independently to achieve results.
- Full and valid driving licence is essential
