About the role
We are looking to recruit an experienced Clerk of Works to supervise on-site construction works on numerous projects and schemes throughout the county of various nature and value. These projects in the main will be in the education sector but not exclusive to and the successful candidate will be expected to adapt to any different environments accordingly.
The Project Management section provides professional architectural, quantity surveying and contract management services for a wide variety of clients within the local authority. The purpose of the role is to provide supervision and quality control of site construction works in order to ensure that the end product is as desired.
Experience and knowledge of Construction Health and Safety is essential and adherence to site requirements would be expected. It is desirable that the successful candidate holds a current CSCS card. Good communication skills are required.
On a day to day basis the tasks will include:
- visiting construction sites
- monitoring quality of Works carried out and ensuring that they are in accordance with contract documentation
- raising observations of Health and Safety risks
- issuing directions on-site where necessary
- compiling reports of observations
- liaising with contractors/consultants/building users/colleagues
We are looking for an individual who is motivated and enthusiastic about the nature of the work with a flexible attitude and able to carry out various duties with a variable work schedule.
Please note that a successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the required standard within two years of appointment.
