Are you a highly motivated creative agency professional with experience in account management and maximising both new and existing client opportunities at a senior level?


We are looking for a Client/Account Development Manager to join our expanding team and help drive the business forward into our third decade of growth.

Since Buzzword launched in 2002, we’ve worked with some remarkable clients; many of whom we still work with today. Most of our team have been with us for over a decade, consistently producing high quality work in a collaborative studio environment.


More about the role

The role is based primarily in our central Chichester studio with travel to client offices as required, working alongside our Managing Director, Senior Account Director, Account Executives and our in-house design and digital teams in the creation, development and implementation of impactful and effective branding solutions and results-oriented campaigns across all major media. Our clients span various industries including pharmaceutical, finance, non-profit, global business services, property, healthcare, childcare, nursing care, tourism, veterinary, dental and more.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in high-level account management and securing new business for both retained clients and ad-hoc projects. An excellent eye for detail and the ability to identify and develop areas of opportunity in order to help the agency to win new business and grow through networking, events and the development and conversion of new business enquiries is essential. Experience in multi-channel digital campaigns both paid and organic is key, and experience and the ability to create written digital content would be clearly advantageous.

About you

To thrive in this exciting and challenging role, we are looking for someone who is highly motivated with experience and a proven track record in effective account management and a passion for digital marketing.

If you have a minimum of 5 years client-facing and agency experience, a track record of winning new business and business growth/development, strong practical knowledge in writing proposals, tenders and project estimates at a high level, and excellent listening and communication skills, we’d love to hear from you.


Responsibilities and skills:

  • Ability to work with the senior management and creative teams to support new and existing client account requirements
  • Develop and win new business/clients to support the agency into our next chapter of growth
  • Understand the needs of our clients and act as the key point of contact to them
  • Have an in-depth understanding of digital design, digital campaigns, branding and communications
  • Work in close collaboration with our design and digital teams
  • Minimum of 5 years client-facing and agency experience
  • Knowledge and experience of paid digital campaigns
  • A degree in marketing or business would be desirable, but not essential
  • An understanding of latest design and branding trends
  • Ability to work autonomously, using your initiative to problem solve
  • Effectively manage projects between our design studio and clients
  • Experience in social media and digital content
  • Understanding a client’s business goals and helping to make them happen
  • Winning new clients to support our annual growth targets
  • Taking the lead on and preparing annual marketing plans for each client and larger project proposals as required with support from the wider team
  • Owning and developing client relationships
  • Leveraging resource available to fulfil client needs
  • Applying data-driven decision-making to draw insights when analysing and presenting results
  • Have strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Can multitask well
  • Have a fine eye for detail
  • Have a track record of successful delivery and client relationships
  • Are proficient in all Microsoft platforms: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Have experience working across Microsoft Teams/SharePoint or similar.
