Job description

At Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Coding Team for the above post. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced coders to join our friendly coding team.
Do you have a good approach to mentoring and supervising, enjoy communicating effectively with Clinicians, Senior Managers, and other staff members within a Trust?
Are you able to manage your workload, code accurately, and meet deadlines?
Are you looking for a role working with a great team of coders who are positive, in a department that wants staff to find the right balance between work and home, who offer flexible working hours?
If so then this could be the post for you.
While the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) is essential for a Band 6 role, we also welcome applications from experienced clinical coders with demonstrable knowledge in the acute NHS environment for a Band 5 Senior Clinical Coder role. Strong coding skills and relevant experience will be highly valued.
This is a full-time position with opportunity for hybrid working and flexibility with working times to support our employees in having a healthy work-life balance. Salary is subject to a supplementary payment of RRP 15% of Basic Salary which is reviewed annually.
Overall you will be fundamental to delivering a high standard Clinical Coding function to the Trust and other key stakeholders, playing a key role in developing, maintaining and evolving the Trust’s Clinical Coding systems, processes and service delivery to support the provision of in-depth and quality coding. Be flexible and supportive in extracting clinical information from electronic systems and case notes.
Through teamwork, you will ensure that every aspect of our service meets the rapidly changing needs of our organisation providing quality service to consultants, clinicians and non-clinical colleagues. You will be required to work with operational and corporate teams and clinical portfolios in the development and delivery of complex coding requirements. This will require analysis, interpretation and resolution of highly complex problems, covering a wide range of clinical and business areas including at a national level.
Success will depend on your attention to detail, positive attitude, organisational and problem-solving skills and the ability to build productive relationships right across the organisation. You will be suitably qualified through qualifications or relevant experience.
Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust. Recognising that our 5000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program along with a commitment to developing and advancing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family will ensure you that you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.
We are clinically led and provide joined up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.
We have received an overall Good rating from the CQC with Medical care (including older peoples care), End of Life Care and Maternity services being deemed Outstanding by the CQC.
Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.
Although it isn't the Trusts normal practice, adverts may close early, so you are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.
