We are seeking applications from experienced General Adult Psychiatrists for the role of Clinical Director.
This is a joint management and clinical role. The successful candidate will provide professional leadership, clinical governance, and oversight of services.
The role will be directly responsible to the CEO and will involve working with other members of the Board of Directors to implement policy and procedural guidelines, maintain best practice standards for the provision of psychological and rehabilitative services and ensure effective multi-disciplinary relationships.
This role will also require the individual personally to undertake clinical work, and to participate in the development of services as appropriate.
Purpose:
To provide professional leadership and to represent and act as the point of contact between PPCS psychiatrists and the PPCS Board of Directors.
To be responsible to the CEO and Board of Directors for the maintenance of clinical and professional standards.
To provide clinical advice to the CEO and Board of Directors.
To provide recommendations for, and to be involved in the provision of, clinical developments and directions for the organisation.
Duties to include:
Provision of treatment and assessment services to patients.
Supervision of, and advice to, clinical colleagues on all legal and Regulatory matters pertinent to the proper provision of psychiatric and psychological services.
Involvement in the audit and evaluation of services against recognised best practice standards, and implementation of any consequential required change.
Involvement in the recruitment process of psychiatrists.
Clinical on-boarding and mentoring of psychiatrists.
Investigating any complaints: a) made against medical staff. b) arising out of any concerns about their professional conduct, and making recommendations to the CEO as to appropriate action.
Assisting the CEO in contacts/meetings with outside bodies.
Medicines management of controlled drug prescriptions.
Attending Clinical Care Advisory quarterly meetings.
Providing a monthly report to the BOD to include information on: recruitment, safety and risk issues, complaints, clinical developments.
Being an attendee as required at PPCS Board meetings.
This job requires clinical work with patients.
The salary offered is between £90,000 to £120,000 per year, on a pro rata basis.
