Job description

A Vacancy at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking to further your career? Do you have a passion for Trauma Orthopaedics and Major Trauma? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? If this sounds like you, come and join the Core Therapies “Team of the Year” as our Clinical Lead Physiotherapist.
“Supportive”, “incredible”, “funny” and “all round epic” are just some of the words used to describe the Trauma Orthopaedic therapy team recently. We are a well-established team with a passion for providing holistic rehabilitation and continual improvement within our services.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a regional Major Trauma Centre, providing assessment and treatment to a variety of patients from 16 – 100 and beyond. The role will offer plentiful opportunity to develop your leadership skills whilst also further advancing your clinical skills through management of a complex caseload. You will also support the management of the Major Trauma team and the clinical provision of services in this area, including implementing actions from our recent peer review. You will work alongside a dedicated, supportive and friendly integrated therapy team in order to provide effective, co-ordinated care for your patients.
You will lead the Trauma Orthopaedics and Major Trauma teams collaboratively alongside the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. You will have direct responsibility for the Physiotherapists within the speciality. You should possess excellent leadership skills, team working and communication which are essential to ensure the effectiveness of the service and satisfaction of the team. Thriving under pressure and working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment is important in this role, as well as being able to effectively problem solve.
Our Core Therapy team is well integrated and you will be expected to work closely with the Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants in order to provide joined up, holistic care to patients. Having experience with core people management is important in order to encourage staff to continually develop to maintain high standards of care, team morale and motivation.
There are a range of opportunities for both personal and professional development at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. We have a dedicated Health Academy and the learning and development of staff within the Trust is very much encouraged and supported.
In recognition of the need for enhanced provision, Core Therapies are looking to move towards 7 day working and as such the successful candidate will be expected to support this model of care where it is already implemented and in the future implementations.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a large Foundation Trust which is set over two hospital sites at Preston and Chorley. We are proud to be a Specialist Major Trauma unit for North-West England. This is alongside our level 1 regional specialist unit for Neurological Rehabilitation and Burns and Plastics.
We have 10,000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.
Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.
You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done. You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.
You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care and enhancing their experience which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.
Duties to include but not be limited to:
· To communicate and collaborate with all Core Therapies stakeholders
· To support personal and people development
· To ensure the health, safety and security of users of the ITS, self and colleagues
· To lead on service development and planning
· To support the Clinical Governance and Quality agenda within the ITS
· To support equality of opportunity and access within the IS for both staff and patients
· To support financial and other resource management within the ITS
· To provide and use information to support admin processes and patient care
· To directly support the delivery of therapy to patients
· To provide leadership and management support
