- THE ROLE -
With the new School of Medicine focused on the education of Northern Ireland’s future doctors, the post holder will provide GP leadership and teaching, working closely with an established Senior Lecturer in General Practice Education and an expanding team of GP tutors. As an experienced practising clinician, the appointee will act as an inspirational role model for medical students. It is also anticipated that the post holder will contribute to other aspects of the MBBS programme.
The appointee will be expected to undertake clinical work within an identified General Practice in Derry City and Strabane district, and with a wide variety of practices from Inner City, to rural, there are opportunities for doctors with diverse backgrounds to develop their clinical work. The clinical workload will be in keeping with BMA guidance for Senior Clinical Academic GPs. On offer of appointment, further clarification on anticipated clinical workload as well as the support structure within the relevant practice will be provided to the applicant to inform decision making.
- ABOUT YOU -
The postholder will be required to be:
- Primary Medical Degree.
- Full Registration with the GMC, or eligible for full registration (in case of international applicants).
- Inclusion on the Specialist GP Register or eligible for inclusion within six months of the interview date.
- MRCGP.
- Relevant experience of teaching students and in the supervision of students at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
