The main duties of the Clinical Services Manager - Theatre role include:

• The primary responsibility is to strategically plan the delivery of safe clinical care for patients within the Theatre service, aligning with the operational requirements of the business. This role entails the day-to-day organization and management of care within the Operating Department, involving coordination of both clinical and non-clinical theatre team members. Providing clear guidance and leadership to all theatre staff while supporting hospital initiatives is a key aspect. Additionally, the role involves driving the development, motivation, and performance of the Theatre Team, ensuring adherence to CQC Standards.
• Maintaining a professional and cost-effective theatre service, encompassing financial management and business planning.
• Meeting labour management targets and completing staff utilization spreadsheets weekly are essential objectives.
• Managing the department according to the Governance & Assurance Framework and Group Operating System

What we are looking for in a successful candidate:

• Registered Practitioner holding NMC or HCPC registration.
• Demonstrated evidence of ongoing professional development, both in clinical practice and managerial capacities.
• Extensive experience in acute nursing care.
• Possession of a degree or equivalent qualification.
• Updated and comprehensive knowledge within the area of practice.
• Familiarity with the NMC Code of Accountability.
• Extensive background in an acute hospital setting as a Senior Registered Practitioner or in an equivalent role. Previous experience in a Theatre or Deputy Theatre Managerial position is preferred.
• Proven track record in customer care, including adeptness in handling challenging situations while interacting with customers.
• Collaborative work experience with multidisciplinary teams, involving internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable about relevant standards and external bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission.
