Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Support Engineer with a strong emphasis on customer support in our fast-paced organisation to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to product hosting, infrastructure setup, networking, security, storage, application, and other infrastructure components.
The ideal candidate will prioritise customer satisfaction while ensuring high availability and performance of our product hosting environment.
This is a remote role, but the successful candidate will be based in the UK.
What You’ll Do
- Triage, isolate, and resolve technical issues related to Linux, infrastructure, networking, and our application while prioritising customer satisfaction.
- Escalate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, and product development to resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring high availability and performance of the product hosting environment.
- Take ownership of the availability, performance, and management of our cloud infrastructure and product offerings with a customer-centric approach.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement while prioritising customer support.
- Set up and maintain necessary infrastructure components and services required for hosting our products on cloud platforms.
- Manage software deployments and upgrades for kubernetes orchestrated containerized environments as well as non-containerized environments while adhering to company policies of change management and ensuring our customers are notified.
- Oversee and resolve technical issues, upgrades, and configurations within the AWS infrastructure, demonstrating a strong grasp of both fundamental AWS services and advanced offerings like ECR and ECS.
- Leverage cloud observability tools to actively monitor, analyse, and troubleshoot system performance.
- Manage change activities and review and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports with corrective and preventive actions.
- Automate routine tasks such as backups, scaling, monitoring, and maintenance activities using scripting and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Automate infrastructure setup processes using tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and scripting/automation to streamline deployment and configuration processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications, Strengths, and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cloud Operations Engineer or in a similar role with a strong emphasis on customer support.
- Strong hands-on experience in a client facing support role managing cloud-based, containerized production environments, prioritising customer satisfaction.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and AWS services, with a focus on customer-centric solutions.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with open source cloud and proprietary observability tools.
- Solid understanding of JVM, ActiveMQ, and related technologies with a focus on customer support.
- Familiarity with ITIL Service and Service Operations roles and responsibilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluent English language skills essential.
