SALARY

• DAYS and NIGHTS SHIFT available.
• Shift allowance on NIGHTS.
• 16.00 to 18.00 basic rate (negotiable at interview).
• 25 days holiday (plus statutory public holidays).

JOB SUMMARY

Alecto are recruiting for a highly acclaimed Precision Engineering business in the Huntingdon area. The client are looking for a Multi Skilled CNC Machinist with experience in Programming, Setting and Operating CNC Mills and / or Lathes. A company specialising in manufacturing components for a variety of sectors within the Precision Engineering Industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production of precision components.
• Perform offline programming using industry-standard software, optimising machine utilisation and reducing downtime.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on CNC machines to ensure their optimal performance.
• Collaborate with the production team to develop and implement manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Perform quality inspections using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and other inspection tools, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the production process.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience operating and programming CNC machines is essential.
• Proficiency in setting up and adjusting CNC machines for different production runs.
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with offline programming techniques to optimise production efficiency.
• Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and inspection processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations.
