CNC Programmer Setter Operator required for a plastic engineering company based in Biggleswade.

CNC Programmer Setter Operator Position Overview

Setting up and operating various machining centres

• Writing/editing and adjusting programs at the machine from drawings using Siemens 828d

and ProtoTRAK controls

• Producing intricate components for use in quality critical markets
• In-process inspection using various hand measuring instruments
• General housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
• Process improvement to ensure output is efficient and cost-effective.

CNC Programmer Setter Operator Position Requirements

Have experience working as a CNC Miller, Machinist or Programmer in a high precision

role

• Be able to understand and edit programmes (ISO or conversational)
• Be willing to undergo internal training and development to get up to speed on internal

processes and machining strategies in order to independently achieve the level of quality

required

• Have experience of creating part programs from provided solid models and drawings.
• Have a desire to learn new skills.
• Have experience in a small batch environment.
• Good PC skills (MS Word and Excel)
• Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, hands-on approach and a desire to be proactive and

work with minimal supervision

• Experience using an ERP system for stock management ( Sage 200 / MS Dynamics NAV )

Desirable

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

CNC Programmer Setter Operator Position Remuneration

• Salary dependent on experience £30k-£35k
