CNC Turner - Precision Engineering
- Salary up to £18.00 per hour, (£36,500 pa)
- Overtime Pay up to £27.00 per hour (Time & a Half of the hourly rate)
- Excellent Earning Potential - Good hours available
- Standard week: 39 hours, 12.00 mid-day finish on Fridays
- Location: Cambourne - Gamlingay - St. Neots area - Own transport required due to location
- Permanent position - Immediate Start
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our clients precision engineering team.
The CNC Turner will need to be able to set up, operate, and program CNC Lathes. Any experience in operating Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines would be of particular interest.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and program Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine machining operations and set up requirements
- Use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure accuracy and quality of machined components
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the machining process
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring machines are properly maintained and serviced
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve efficiency
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a CNC Turner
- Any experience of operating Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines would be beneficial
- Proficient in setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Strong knowledge of measuring equipment and ability to use them effectively
- Attention to detail and ability to inspect components for quality and accuracy
- City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in Engineering would be advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Hours:
- 39 per week - Working Monday to Friday (Early finish on a Friday)
- Start time: 7.30am
- Finish times: Monday 4.00pm, Tuesday 4.30pm, Wednesday & Thursday 5.00pm and Friday 12.00 mid-day
