We have an exciting opportunity for a Collections Advisor to join a UK financial services company in the Belfast branch.
You will be responsible for the collection of customer debt in arrears in line with regulatory and company policies ensuring customers are treated fairly. You will work closely with customers to understand the reason for arrears, ensuring a fair and sustainable solution to bring the loan back up to date.
The role:
:
- Work closely with customers, handling both inbound and outbound calls
- Establish with the customers reason for arrears, individual circumstances, and their financial situation/ability to pay
- Work within Collections Policy and Procedure to identify a fair and appropriate outcome to return the loan back up to date i.e. cure, payment, arrangement, defer etc
- Summarise to the customer the agreed arrangement, next steps, and future consequences of none payment
- Process immediate and future payments, complete income and expenditure assessments, agree arrangements and refer to the Financial Difficulties/Vulnerable team if necessary
- Meet individual and team targets each month
What we’re looking for:
- Proven track record in consumer collection activities
- Knowledge of the consumer credit industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate with difficult/vulnerable customers
- Ability to focus on problem solving/solution orientated with customers
- Team player with the ability to build highly effective relationships with colleagues and line manager
