Rotherham Museum, Arts and Heritage has a mission to ‘spark imagination, curiosity, and roots through the celebration of Rotherham’s people, stories, spaces and collections.’ This mission is underpinned with five values of generosity, quality, inclusivity, wonder and resilience. In 2023, Rotherham Museums, Arts and Heritage became an Arts Council funded National Portfolio Organisation. This funding focuses on delivering high quality programme and engagement across the service venues, collaborating with communities, artists and creative practitioners.
Rotherham Museums, Arts and Heritage is looking for an experienced Collections and Exhibitions Manager to become part of the Rotherham Museums, Arts and Heritage team for 12 months maternity cover. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the further development of the wider Rotherham Museum, Arts and Heritage team which includes Clifton Park Museum, Boston Castle and five heritage sites across Rotherham.
You will manage the Collections and Exhibitions team to oversee the effective management, documentation and development of the accredited museum collections. You will ensure the delivery of the Collections Management plan and prepare the service for the next accreditation return in 2025.
In 2025 Rotherham will become the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture. The Collections and Exhibitions Manager (maternity cover) will work with the full museum team to develop an engaging and collaborative programme for 2025 including exhibitions, artist installations and events.
