As the Collections Manager you will be joining a family run and FCA regulated successful business who work with small businesses, banks, and insolvency clients, with the recovery of overdue invoices and fully outsourced credit control.

The primary responsibility of a Collections Manager is the management of a team of Collections Advisors ensuring consistent performance.
In addition to effectively managing the team's workloads and targets, providing operational support, direction, and coaching.

This position is offered on a permanent basis and is 100% remote based, you will be required to travel to Southampton for training, team meetings and events when necessary.

You will be responsible for providing services in the most timely, compliant, and efficient manner, while meeting personal and team targets and ensuring that the highest levels of quality and efficiency are maintained.

Main accountabilities for the Collections Manager

• Daily management of a team of Collections Advisors


• Managing workloads, prioritising workflow, increasing efficiency to meet targets & team KPI's


• Supporting the Head with the day-to-day management of a portfolio of collections instructions across multiple products and markets, including insolvency, Asset Based Lending, invoice discounting / factoring, Telephone Debt Verifications, corporate & SME debt recovery, early arrears collections, and outsourced credit control


• Ownership and collection of higher profile live debtor accounts


• Providing accurate and timely reporting to clients as appropriate


• Mentor, develop and train the team to ensure that they fulfil their responsibilities confidently


• Resolve collections issues, disputes, complaints, and queries, escalating as appropriate


• Develop and maintain personal development plans for the team, including monthly 1-2-1's Ensure good communication and cooperation with all stakeholders.


• Reviewing and developing team processes to ensure they are standardised and streamlined to maximise efficiencies

Skills, attributes, and experience required for the Collections Manager

• You will ideally hold business or accountancy-based professional qualifications (not essential)


• You should have sound knowledge Insolvency, Asset Based Lending, Invoice Finance / Factoring, Telephone Debt Verification, Corporate & SME Debt Recovery, Early Arrears Collections and Credit Control


• Previous team leadership experience with the knowledge to lead, manage and develop a team


• Excellent communication skills and telephone manner


• Able to communicate in a professional and articulate manner


• High level of attention to detail


• Computer proficiency - Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM and Sage or a similar accounts systems


• Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills


• Self-motivated, adaptable, dynamic, and ambitious


• Able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop
