In March 2024, Warrington Borough Council brought services provided by LiveWire CIC back “in house”. This means that Warrington Borough Council now directly controls a number of leisure and library facilities in the town, including:
- three neighbourhood hubs
- two community hub
- a leisure centre
- 13 libraries
Our facilities offer customers access to state-of-the-art gyms, swimming pools, tennis courts and sports pitches, and a wide range of library resources. And our lifestyles support programmes and our community outreach activities can help Warrington families make positive changes – whatever their age and interests.

The role
If you're passionate about fitness and wellbeing, you could take the lead on delivering LiveWire’s commercial and fitness programmes.
The Commercial Fitness Manager is responsible for maximizing the member experience specifically looking at our fitness programmes; sourcing and introduction of new commercial products/programmes designed to appeal to LiveWire members and prospective members.
Reporting to the Leisure Operations Director the post will work collaboratively with LiveWire’s General Group Managers to proactively devise and implement sales, fitness, retention, and other commercial initiatives to increase LiveWire’s revenue streams.
The Commercial Fitness Manager must ensure that LiveWire is the leading health and fitness provider in Warrington and as such will be expected to be well informed with regard to the latest developments in that specific field.
A key element for the success of this role will be a sound understanding of a Commercial Fitness sales process. This will include devising sales campaigns and ensuring best practice for membership sales, data-capture and lead generation processes, with the ability to bring team members along with the process.
What's needed?
- Candidates must have experience of new product development that has achieved positive results, a detailed knowledge of membership management, extensive knowledge and experience of managing a Commercial Fitness offer. A proven track record of innovation and an ability to implement new offers that transform the customer experience to generate income or supports the development of new ways of working. The ability to understand our customers changing needs and to provide services which are responsive to them, most importantly you will need drive, commitment and enthusiasm to ensure LiveWire continues to be the main provider of leisure services across Warrington.
