Commercial Underwriter (Property & Casualty) (SB261)

Opportunity for a Trading Underwriter (property & liability) to join an existing commercial underwriting team, proactively developing and profitably growing a commercial book of business.

The successful applicants will partner with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure provision of whole customer solutions.

Underwriter role:

• You will have experience in dealing with insurance brokers and or customers.
• You will showcase excellent interpersonal skills, visiting brokers to develop, build up, and strengthen working relationships, as well as ensuring continued visibility in the market.
• Your regular tasks will include managing new business as well as dealing with renewals and mid-term adjustments.
• You will have the skills to mentor and develop others and work collaboratively within a team and support senior members.
• You will need to be working towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade.

Skills and experience:

• Previous Property and Liability underwriting experience.
• The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
• Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation.
• Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation.
• Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases.
• You will need great organisation and time management skills including the ability to manage own diary successfully in a fast-paced environment.
