SalaryWe are working with a dynamic venture capital firm specialising in early-stage investments in innovative companies across various industries throughout the UK, Europe and the US. Their mission is to fuel the growth of promising ventures, and support entrepreneurial endeavours that drive positive change in the world. They are seeking a skilled Commercial Litigator, qualified in England and Wales, to join their team on a part-time basis for a 6-12-month contract.
As a Commercial Litigator working with this company's portfolio businesses, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving legal disputes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and protecting the company's interests. You will collaborate closely with the legal team and external counsel to navigate complex legal challenges and mitigate potential risks associated with their investment activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough legal research and analysis related to Commercial Litigation matters affecting venture capital investments.
- Providing strategic guidance and legal advice to internal stakeholders on dispute resolution strategies and risk mitigation tactics.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, pleadings, and settlement proposals.
- Representing the company in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings as necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of legal matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring legal developments and industry trends impacting venture capital investments, advising the team on potential implications.
- Collaborating with external counsel and experts to support their legal initiatives and achieve favourable outcomes in litigation matters.
Qualifications required:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, with a valid practising certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience practising Commercial Litigation, preferably within the venture capital or financial services industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling complex Commercial Litigation matters.
- Excellent knowledge of English law, civil procedure rules, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
