As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be a crucial part of our financial and management reporting team, aiding in strategic decision-making. You will be part of a tight-knit team, reporting to the Head of Management Accountant and working on various projects and tasks. Your responsibilities will include control, reporting, and budgeting for a multi-site business, offering a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. This is a hybrid role with two days a week in the office and flexible working hours.
Your New Role
As a Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Executing month-end accounting processes, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete, and integral.
- Providing clear explanations to ensure key financial information and balances are correctly interpreted and that divisional finance teams understand their risks and opportunities.
- Preparing comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are supported and no un-actioned differences remain within any balance sheet control accounts for more than one quarter.
- Delivering high-quality reports, information, and commentary to provide insights that enable the business to make effective strategic and operational decisions.
- Providing excellent customer service to internal customers, ensuring high-quality financial information is provided to decision-makers.
- Responding promptly to queries received relating to month-end processes.
- Collaborating with teams across the company to build strong relationships and ensure effective financial reporting support is provided across the business.
- Ensuring the finance team maintains financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP principles and performs comprehensive document reviews to ensure Internal Controls are followed in accordance with company established guidelines, policies & procedures, and ensure that a robust controls environment is in place.
- Supporting the external audit process and providing responses to any related queries to ensure the audit process is conducted smoothly and accurately.
- Supporting the end-to-end review of processes by suggesting ideas for improvements that could benefit reconciliations through enhancing systems and processes.
- Maintaining a detailed knowledge of source data, and the structure and use of financial information from core systems which feeds into the financial statements.
- Understanding the impact of operational changes to procedures and core business systems to ensure correct accounting treatment and up to date posting books.
- Assisting with any operational or accounting projects initiatives as required and carrying out ad-hoc analysis to deliver key operational/management information to differing audiences to help support decision making.

Qualifications
- ACCA/CIMA studier or equivalent level experience.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise workload and deliver high-quality financial information to non-finance stakeholders as well.
- Experience with finance and ERP software.
