Your responsibilities will span end-to-end commercial activities. Commercial Manager - Requirements
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
- Significant previous experience in a commercial role in engineering or manufacturing (defence or nuclear would be an advantage)
- Extensive experience managing contracts and understanding contract terms including negotiating price and commercial terms with customers.
- Highly numerate with a strong understanding of pricing methodologies.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inc Excel & Sharepoint, MRP & CRM experience
- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel in the UK and EU.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- UK BPSS clearance required for the role.
- Strong account and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in preparing sales financial forecasts and management information.
- When referring to negotiated terms, the ability to explain the implication to P&L, cash flow, and risk.
- WCC or CIPS accreditation is desirable.
- Ambitious and eager to contribute to the growth of a specialized business.
Commercial Manager - Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver high-quality bids and proposals, coordinating cost estimates and applying commercial judgment on pricing strategies.
- Negotiate contracts with customers to ensure profitable business and mitigate commercial risks.
- Monitor and manage contract performance and compliance, guiding the business in understanding its commitments and risks.
- Contribute to developing and implementing commercial and pricing strategies aligned with company goals to drive revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Provide support to the Commercial Director in ensuring sound commercial practices are applied consistently.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality bids and proposals, coordinating cost estimates and applying commercial judgment on pricing strategies.
- Negotiate contracts with customers to ensure profitable business and mitigate commercial risks.
- Monitor and manage contract performance and compliance, guiding the business in understanding its commitments and risks.
- Support the Commercial Director in managing contract disputes and other contractual matters.
- Prepare and maintain detailed and accurate management information related to commercial performance and KPIs.
- Identify and explore new business opportunities in both UK and international markets.
- Qualify and develop new sales enquiries to understand customer requirements.
- Oversee and manage direct and indirect reports, demonstrating good commercial discipline and compliance with company policies.
- Support continuous improvement projects and the implementation of best practices within the business.
