What you will do in your working day
We are looking for an apprentice Commis Chef to join our fantastic Kitchen Team at the Francis Hotel Bath. Our restaurant Boho Marché offers a fantastic European menu and Emily's tea room offers a wonderful Afternoon Tea experience. We also cater for meetings and a variety of events. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a well established, experienced team that can support and nurture any new team members and help them progress and thrive in this industry.
Many of our kitchen team have progressed whilst at the hotel through the guidance and support of our long standing experienced chef’s. We aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere where everyone supports each other in every area of the kitchen.
An average 6 hour shift in the kitchen will include duties such as :
- Create and present dishes in line with cooking instructions and the supervisors’ instructions.
- Help receive deliveries and tidy food items according to storage guidelines.
- Help keep the equipment used in good condition
Clean and tidy the workplace following the supervisors’ instructions. - Follow the cooking instructions and preparation processes to the letter.
- Help with inventories.
- Understand and comply with food hygiene regulations.
The training you will be getting
Commis Chef Level 2 Apprentice
Teaching will take place one day per week at our City Centre Campus (term time only)
Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
On sucessful completion of the apprentice you may have the opportunity to continue working within the business as a qualified Commis Chef.
