We are currently recuiting for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to work in the Southwater area. The perfect applicant will have knowledge and experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment.

Role: Commissioning Engineer

Location: Southwater

Contract: Freelance

Rate: £430 - £450

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the MEICA & Commissioning delivery of the assigned project in conjunction with the MEICA Lead.
• Ensure all MEICA installation work meets the technical requirements of the project, including Thames Water specifications / Asset Standards.
• Ensure coordination of MEICA & Commissioning activities with Galliford Try / Subcontract resources to ensure that the project specific requirements and programme are met
• Ensure regular MEICA & Commissioning programme updates are included within the main contract programme in collaboration with the planner, and that regular commissioning meetings are held at the necessary intervals
• Ensure Electrical & Mechanical safety rules are applied and adhered to.
• Ensuring all paperwork is up to date, and operation and maintenance information from subcontractors is passed onto the document control team.
• Appointment as Authorised Person Electrical (APE), undertaking electrical switching operation.
• Ensuring that all persons working under his or her control are competent, experienced and qualified for the task they have to perform.
• Ensuring that routine inspections, testing and maintenance of electrical equipment are carried out as required. Undertaking regular electrical site safety inspections

Skills Required:

• Have a minimum of 5-years' experience in the water industry.
• Safe delivery of water projects that are time and cost efficient.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability in site management and delivery of MEICA / Commissioning
• Be able to demonstrate effectiveness and approach in the delivery of MEICA & Commissioning to meet project timeline and Takeover
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the water industry.
• Be able to demonstrate a structured approach to the commissioning of plant, equipment and processes used within the water industry.
• Preferably have the ability to undertake the role of a LV Electrical Authorised Person and be able to demonstrate an understanding of permit to work systems.

Training Requirements:

• CSCS card or ECS card in an appropriate discipline
• EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
• SMSTS (preferred) with SSSTS (minimum)
• First Aid at Work (preferred)
• BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations - 18th Edition
• COMPEX (preferred)
• PROFIBUS Commissioning and Maintenance (preferred)
