Reed Talent Professionals have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Commissioning Procurement Officer to join MOPAC – the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime team on a temporary basis for 6 months.
The London Violence Reduction Unit, hosted by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, are looking for an experienced and determined Senior Commissioning & Procurement Officer to join their friendly team.
The Senior Commissioning Procurement Officer will support the VRU programme managers to commission over £45m of activity by leading on end-to-end procurement support as well as providing grant and contract advice.
London’s VRU is focused on stopping violence before it happens through an approach that is rooted in prevention and early intervention.
The MOPAC London Violence Reduction Unit are a team of specialists who use their expertise to work in partnership with communities, councils, the NHS, public health, the police, schools and colleges and charities, to co-ordinate efforts and bring about change.
The VRU is a voice and champion for young people, families and communities.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of independently supporting and advising on end-to-end procurement activity across all values including above EU thresholds and under the Light Touch Regime. A key part of the role is providing contract and grant management advice to VRU Team members whilst ensuring that all contractual documents are modified to reflect changes if required.
The ideal candidate will be driven and have demonstrable experience in the following areas:
• Leading on the end-to-end procurement process for high and low-value procurements within public sector organisations.
• Creating stakeholder engagement plans using a range of tools and approaches.
• Excellent ability to communicate, build relationships, influence and negotiate with prospective providers stakeholders and partners.
• Good understanding of the Light Touch Regime and the ability to create innovative procurement routes to deliver on programme delivery outcomes.
• Knowledge and experience in providing Grant and Contract advice to key stakeholders.
• Designing effective guidance and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of contracts across the VRU.
Security Vetting Clearance
The successful candidate will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting, which may take around eight weeks to complete. Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the UK and have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.
