Job Summary:The Commodities Trade Operator will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of commodities trading operations. This role ensures the smooth execution of trades, accurate documentation, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of the commodities market.
Key Responsibilities:Trade Execution and Monitoring:
- Execute trades as directed by the trading desk.
- Monitor trade status and ensure timely settlement of trades.
- Confirm trade details with counterparties and resolve any discrepancies.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and review trade documentation, including contracts, invoices, and bills of lading.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and correspondence.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate with logistics providers to arrange transportation and delivery of commodities.
- Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery to clients.
- Handle any logistical issues or delays and communicate updates to relevant parties.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with trading activities.
- Monitor market trends and assess their impact on trade operations.
- Collaborate with the risk management team to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Client and Counterparty Communication:
- Act as a point of contact for clients and counterparties regarding trade-related queries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on trade status and address any concerns promptly.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain and update trade databases and systems.
- Generate reports on trading activities, performance, and market conditions.
- Analyze trade data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience/knowledge in commodities trading operations or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of commodities markets and trading principles.
- Proficiency in trading software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
