The School of Biological Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Communications and Outreach Officer.
The Communications and Outreach Officer for Climate+ will be part of an Operations Team based at QUB who will deliver the strategic and operational objectives of the Climate+ Co-Centre - a tri-jurisdictional Co-Centre spanning Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), UKRI and DAERA, and managed jointly by QUB and Trinity College Dublin. The Co-Centre will be the home of research, innovation, and policy development across the interlinked challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and water degradation on the islands of Ireland and Britain and this role will plan and deliver communications activity to engage a diverse range of audiences with the work of the Co-Centre.
The postholder will liaise with partners across the three jurisdictions to promote the Co-Centre and the work of its research teams to a wide and diverse audience to deepen understanding of research outcomes and impact via multiple channels including digital content for website, social media, and newsletters. The post holder will also support Co-Centre senior staff in the planning and delivery of communication and Outreach activities with external stakeholders and the implementation of projects or special initiatives arising from the Co-Centre’s integrated research and business plans, in line with School/Faculty plans and QUB Strategy 2030.

This post is available on a fixed term contract available until 31 Decenber 2029. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
