Communications Lead - PART TIME 22.5 Hours p/w

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Lead to join a Local Authority based in Bideford. As the Communications Officer, your duties will include:

• Preparing press releases
• Campaign management
• Social media.
• Internal/external communications

Skills and experience:

• NVQ Level 4 in journalism/public relations/media studies (or similar) or equivalent qualifications /experience.
• An understanding of local authorities, the political environment in which they operate and the key issues and challenges they face.
• Knowledge of the various laws and codes governing equalities, public relations and communications.
• Experience and knowledge of marketing and communications techniques including the use of printed and online materials and of using and developing social media effectively in a professional capacity.
• Experience of developing and managing effective internal and external communications strategies and plans, including crisis or reputation management.

Location: EX39 2QG, Hybrid
Start date: ASAP
Contract duration: 2+ months
Working hours: Part time, 22.5 hours across 3 days
Pay rate: 20 p/h, negotiable
