We make national news here at Warwick every day. No day is ever the same and the range of topics we communicate on is vast. You’ll have the opportunity to shape our communications on a range of subjects, liaising closely with colleagues in internal communications and social media.
We regularly have journalists and film crews on campus reporting on our activities and you’ll be helping them to tell our stories.
You’ll be joining a team of six Communications Officers who work with the media to ensure the University’s excellence in research, innovation, community outreach and widening participation are highlighted across varied audiences. We work very collaboratively across a varied range of topics which will give you the opportunity to be creative and innovative in your approach.

You’ll enjoy the buzz of a fast-paced environment and seeing your stories appear in national media. Good at prioritising, you’re adept at writing for different audiences to communicate complex issues simply. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy meeting people and be happy to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
You'll need experience of working within a busy news environment as a journalist or in a press office and have an excellent understanding of the workings of external media (print, broadcast, online and social).
