We make national news here at Warwick every day. No day is ever the same and the range of topics we communicate on is vast. You’ll have the opportunity to shape our communications on a range of subjects, liaising closely with colleagues in internal communications and social media.

We regularly have journalists and film crews on campus reporting on our activities and you’ll be helping them to tell our stories.

You’ll be joining a team of six Communications Officers who work with the media to ensure the University’s excellence in research, innovation, community outreach and widening participation are highlighted across varied audiences. We work very collaboratively across a varied range of topics which will give you the opportunity to be creative and innovative in your approach.

At the heart of our University lies the imperative to search for answers to the world’s most complex questions, and to share the knowledge we gain so that, together, we contribute to creating a fairer, better world for all. By joining Warwick, you’ll join a diverse, innovative, and globally connected community committed to igniting real-world progress regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Our beautiful green campus, rich with wildlife, is close to bustling cities and outstanding transport infrastructure connecting us to major UK and international destinations. We're home to award-winning research and teaching facilities, and to renowned entertainment and leisure venues such as the Warwick Arts Centre and the Sports and Wellness Hub. We also have an impressive art collection and sculpture trail open to all.

Here at Warwick, we offer you opportunities to follow your ambitions anywhere, as long as you bring the energy and determination to succeed.

Good at prioritising, you’re adept at writing for different audiences to communicate complex issues simply. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy meeting people and be happy to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

You'll need experience of working within a busy news environment as a journalist or in a press office and have an excellent understanding of the workings of external media (print, broadcast, online and social).
