Job description

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Communications Officer to work within Nottinghamshire Council. This is a full time hybrid position, and we are paying £19 per hour for this role.

Given this context, there is a significant need for communications planning and delivery including election awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement and being ready to deliver when the first Mayor takes up their term of office. • Develop good working relationships with services, politicians, relevant partners, external stakeholders and other opinion formers.
  • Evaluate communications activity to understand if objectives have been achieved so that decisions can be made about changes in direction for existing or future activity.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in communications and PR, including channels and technology.
  • Assess data and analysis to support decision making and reporting.
  • Participate in training to develop specialist and service knowledge in relevant fields.
  • Support the delivery of relevant communications training.
  • Ensure that the service offers excellent value for money in all of its activity.

  • Develop communications activity based on insight, data and a solid evidence base.
  • Attend press and promotional events out of office hours and at weekends as required.
  • Ensure all relevant legal guidelines and procedures are followed such as the Recommended Code of Practice on Local Government Publicity, March 2011, copyright and data protection laws.
  • Ensure all communications activity is in line with relevant policies and procedures including equality and diversity, health and safety, corporate governance and statutory obligations.
