The Opportunity
Help modernise Parliament and bring it to more people through the power of digital. Working with colleagues across the Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) and within the House of Commons and the House of Lords, you will deliver high quality communications about our work and our services across a range of channels. There will be a particular focus on Social Media including the PDS blog, PDS X (formerly Twitter) feed and PDS LinkedIn. You can expect to:
- develop a content strategy for Social Media channels that is coordinated with our wider digital communications strategy
- develop, implement and evaluate insight-driven communications plans and activity
- identify new opportunities for Social Media content
- implement and report on digital metrics to inform improvements to digital channels
What You Need
This is a busy, fast-paced environment where we depend on teamwork to get things done. You must be ready to work collaboratively and build strong and wide-ranging working relationships. We also look for:
- experience of developing and delivering communications plans and activity
- experience of planning and creating engaging, accessible and effective content for blogs and Social Media channels
- excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
- the capacity to negotiate with and influence colleagues, up to senior levels
- the ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and changing deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
- strong planning, collaboration and people skills, including delivering communication products to tight deadlines
- the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK
About The Team
The PDS Communications Team works with colleagues across PDS and Parliament to help our customers and colleagues understand our work and the services we provide. We're a small and busy team working primarily on internal communications within Parliament but also managing the PDS Social Media channels including the PDS blog, X(formerly twitter) and LinkedIn.

All teams are required to attend the estate for part of the time to meet business requirements and for team communication, learning and training.
