The outcome of the council's Total Pay and Reward review means the full-time salary for this position from 1 st April 2024 will be £25,119 to £25,545. The salary will be pro rata for part time and term time vacancies.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Active Communities Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to deliver a range of sport and physical activity sessions designed to get young people, families, children, adults and older people more active and improve their health and wellbeing across the East Riding
We are looking for an individual who can work on their own or as part of a team to deliver fun and engaging sessions in the community, schools, beaches, leisure centres, village halls to name a few. You will need to create session plans to meet the needs of the participants, have a flexible approach and be willing to work daytime, evenings and some weekends.
Some of the areas of work include:
- Planning and delivering activities for young people to reduce anti-social behaviour, build confidence and engage in physical activity, as part of our Positive Lifestyle programme.
- Planning and delivering activities within schools as part of the Healthier Schools programme and work with the School Sports Partnership.Planning and delivering community sessions for young people, adults and vulnerable groups, as part of our Promoting Independence and Community Build programmes.
- Planning and delivering on the Active Coast programme including beach sports, multi-sports and family boot camp sessions.
- You will need to capture feedback, and complete programme reporting/evaluation spreadsheets.
The person we are looking for should have a real belief in the importance of physical activity and the positive impact it has on our health and wellbeing:
- A flexible, enthusiastic, can do' approach and the ability to deliver a diverse workload.
- Hold a professional qualification demonstrating transferrable skills eg Level 2 in sport, NVQ level 2 equivalent
Some experience of delivering activities in a variety of settings such as schools, Leisure Centres, community venues
Some experience of working with young people,families, adults and vulnerable groups. - The ability to communicate well, and have good time management skills
