About the role

JOB TITLE: Compensation & Benefits Manager (Up to 12 months fixed term contract)

REPORTS TO: Head of HR/People

ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated payroll manager looking for an opportunity to implement their knowledge and lead the Compensation and Benefits function. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our payroll team at a pivotal time as we move to a new integrated HR and Payroll system (Dayforce).

MAIN FUNCTION: Oversee and manage end to end payroll processing for all employees within UK, CHI & ROI (4000+). Support the Comp & Bens team in their processing tasks/activities and ensure the highest standard are met when paying our employees throughout the business.

You will be a highly efficient, reliable and trustworthy individual with great attention to detail and passionate about supporting the company to the highest standard.

With your deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance and legislation, you will strive for continuous improvement in order to develop our systems and processes.

As part of the People Leadership team, you will work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders to ensure that our processes are efficient, compliant and aligned to our business needs to best support our people.

You will be a confident communicator, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and will need to demonstrate experience of delivering a payroll function in an organisation of similar scale or complexity.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

PAYROLL

  • Responsible and accountable for the overall processing of 3 separate end-to-end payrolls within UK, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland. Ensuring the team are fully utilising our payroll checklists, payroll training guides and company policies to ensure we pay our employees accurately and on time.
  • Ensure a strict adherence to all payroll related regulations, tax laws and company policies.
  • Stay up to date with evolving legislation and statutory changes.
  • Review and resolve any issues, disputes, discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

SYSTEM

  • Maintain and enhance data accuracy within the system and verify and reconcile all payroll related information.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports and documentation to relevant parties.
  • Lead the implementation of the new system.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate payroll processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

TEAM

  • Support team progress and provide feedback for professional growth.
  • Actively identify areas for improvement within the team and encourage learning and development opportunities.
  • Support, guide and lead by example.

Neilson Square is the home of our original warehouse and distribution centre, as well as many head office functions. Situated in Livingston, our site is in-between Edinburgh and Glasgow and very easily reached by car and public transport.
