Competition Associate

My client is one of the world's leading law firms and has an opportunity for a Compeition Associate to join their Competition, Regulation and Trade group - consistently rated as one of the leading practices in its field, with a team of lawyers based in Europe (London, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Madrid & Paris), Asia and across Australia.

The Role: 

• Their team boasts a market-leading competition litigation practice seamlessly integrated within the Competition, Regulation and Trade group, collaborating with their broader Dispute Resolution division, their unique QC-led advocacy unit, and their innovative Belfast-based document review and management function.
• In this role, you'll immerse yourself in non-contentious matters while having the chance to engage with contentious issues, particularly in private enforcement and other competition disputes.
• Their team covers the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious competition, regulation and trade work globally, including: cartel and other behavioural investigations, merger control, antitrust advice, competition litigation (private enforcement and appeals), regulatory matters, state aid, public procurement, WTO and trade. 

The Candidate: 

• Between 1 and three years of post-qualified experience in a strong UK or European Competition Practice, however they are open to considering candidates with more or less experience.
• Demonstrate academic excellence, typically achieving a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and passing solicitors' examinations on the first attempt.
• Display strong interpersonal skills and aptitude for communication across all levels.
• Exhibit proficiency in complex drafting, negotiation, and project management.
• Understand law firm profitability and manage costs and budgets effectively.
