The Maples are delighted to announce the opportunity for a Complex Learning disability Support Worker (CLD Support worker) to join a team that support an individual with complex needs and behaviours. The successful candidate will have experience in working with individuals with learning difficulties having the confidence to make informed decisions and manage high risk situations. MCA and dolls training is essential within the role alongside positive behaviour management.
The main purpose of the role is to work with an individual to achieve, wellbeing and independence, through the utilisation of creative, flexible, and outcomes driven support planning and delivery techniques. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for enabling the individual in her home to maximize her independence, health and wellbeing within the community.
You will work within a team and be self-motivated in order to achieve Maples goals in supporting the client to live independently.
You will be passionate about this work and willingness to learn new skills in all areas of mental health and learning disabilities.
What you’ll love about the CLD Support Worker with us
No day will be the same for you, your role will include coordinating and reviewing the care and support our client receives. You will deliver creative, flexible and outcomes driven support. Ensuring environments are maintained to a high standard and in line with Health & Safety practices. This also includes completion, action, and review of support plans and risk management plans.
You will be hands on and happy to get stuck in at any opportunity, you will be required to administer medication and provide personal care to the client.
Not only will you be working inside to support the client in their home, but you will be required to arrange day trips and community outings such as cinema, going for food and promoting healthy living through exercise and diet. You will be required to promote choice for the client buy supporting with day-to-day tasks such as shopping, banking and budget management.
You will be part of a proactive care team with 2 people on shift at one time, you will be required to work collaboratively inline with the person’s outcomes and Maples Policies and procedures.
You will have a set shift pattern and will be required to work every other weekend.
1 FTE is 35 hours per week but the organisation is open to part time applications, but candidates must be open to working weekends.
The shift pattern’s will be 7am to 2:30pm and 2pm to 9:30pm.

Who are you?
It would be preferred if you had a full UK driving licence and be able to drive company vehicles.
You will have a diploma level 2 in health and social care or equivalent qualification.
You will have a strong background within the mental health sector specifically learning disabilities with complex needs and behaviours including trauma.
You will have previous positive behaviour training and be able to apply this on a daily basis.
You will have a strong understanding of positive risk, safeguarding and multi-disciplinary teams.
You will be patient, resilient, punctual, approachable, and responsible within the workplace and able to communicate at all levels.
You will be required to complete an enhanced DBS that will be funded by Maples.
