You will be supporting a Gentleman who enjoys living independently, going to my “work” and being part of my local community in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. I will have a completely personalised service I will work with support and contribution from family members, professionals and staff team I can be supported to be independent to live in my local community and have my own home I like to access community facilities and activities We can evolve and develop together to do things better, Support is never finished it is always changing. I need highly reliable and motivated people with a passion for what you do I need you to be non-judgmental, be a people person, have a consistent approach and a team player I need you to understand and accept that i don’t my own person I need you to commit to being totally personalised in all that you do – I am at the centre of my support I need you to always follow my preferred and recommended communicate method and listen to me and respect what i have to say I need you to always be open and honest I need you to able to have positive relationships with my families and circles of support. I need you always be committed to what you do I need you to commit to core values and “think differently” I need you to understand compliance with contracts and accept that i don’t live and work in an ideal world. The ideal candidates will have a Level 3 in Social Care along with strong experience in mental health. If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care and be prepared to take on additional training, that we will support you to complete. You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues. We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton and the Picture Exchange System. During recruitment you will meet the person we support and their family. This will allow you to see their wonderful personality first-hand and fully understand the level of support that they require.
