Support Practitioner

We are currently recruiting for a fantastic organisation to support in Ellon. We are looking for Support Practitioners to work within housing support services. The role of a Support Practitioner will involve working directly with adults supporting them with all aspects of their life including developing life skills such as communication, social skills, and encouraging independence.

• Provide high-quality care and support to individuals in Ellon
• Foster independence and enhance the quality of life for those in need
• Supporting people in their own homes supporting them with their personal care such as bathing and toileting, medication administration, meal preparation, inspiring a healthy lifestyle, and household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
• Encourage the involvement of activities such as seeing friends, taking part in social gatherings such as organised walks, a tea dance or coffee mornings, going out to lunch, watching movies or trips to the cinema, going to the gym or simply out for a walk around the block and your role will be to encourage and facilitate this.

What you will bring to the role - to excel in this specialist setting you will need to evidence:

• Experience with complex care, learning disabilities and mental health
• Good team-working skills and a positive attitude are essential qualities
• Ability to communicate effectively and use your own initiative
• Strong work ethic and organised to support routines
• Able to prioritize and manage workloads
• Eager to develop
• A genuine passion for caring for others
• Patience and understanding
