We are seeking a Compliance Engineer to join the team at our HQ on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Sheffield.
Role purpose:
To plan, develop, and implement Iceotopes technical compliance capabilities according to relevant standards.
A critical technical role focused on:
- Product standards and regualtions
- Health, safety, and environmental impact
- Data protection
- Export and shipping controls
- IT safety and security
Role Summary
- Facilitating product compliance testing.
- Creation and maintenance of Engineering Standards and Test Engineering Procedures.
- Perform mechanical, thermal, and electrical safety tests to ensure that products comply with regulatory standards.
- Research and identify applicable international regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes.
- Provide guidance to design teams on how to comply with specific regulations.
- Organize compliance program by planning work, preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment.
- Interact with outside test laboratories and regulatory agencies as required to obtain testing services, product approvals and interpretations of regulatory requirements.
- Prevent compliance issues by collaborating with design teams.
- Develop compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying Compliance Engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria.
- Reviewing open issues and action items, coordinating actions, and contributing information and analysis to team meetings and reports.
- Manage internal quality and inspection processes.
Key responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance Management:
- Stay abreast of relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications related to electronic products and thermal management.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to ensure that Iceotope's products comply with regional and international regulations.
Product Certification:
- Manage the process of obtaining and maintaining necessary certifications for Iceotope products.
- Work closely with external certification bodies to facilitate testing and evaluation processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation related to compliance testing, certification, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, summarizing compliance status and recommending any necessary corrective actions.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, and quality assurance, to integrate compliance considerations into product development processes.
- Provide guidance and support to other teams on compliance-related matters.
Audits and Inspections:
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits related to compliance and quality management systems.
- Address findings and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous compliance.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the compliance function.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and changes in regulatory requirements, recommending adjustments to policies and procedures accordingly.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in a relevant Engineering discipline - Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in regulatory compliance within the electronics or technology industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable
- Familiarity with standards such as CE, FCC, UL, and others relevant to data center equipment.
