If the answers are ‘yes’, then we have the opportunity for a Compliance Manager (Fire, Electrical & Asbestos) to join our Compliance and Health & Safety Team!
Reporting to our Head of Health & Safety (People and Property), you will be responsible for ensuring Trent & Dove complies with relevant statutory and regulatory obligations in Fire, Electrical & Asbestos and you will support with the development of Trent & Dove’s Asset Investment Strategy and Asset Management Strategy.
The contracts under your control will be well managed, in accordance with budgetary and operational performance requirements, and you will play a key role in shaping our approach to building safety.
This is a key management role and presents an excellent opportunity for the right person to develop technical and leadership skills, supported by our management development programme, within in an ever-changing statutory and regulatory environment.
About you
We are looking for an experienced compliance professional with excellent knowledge of housing compliance related legislation, regulatory requirements, sector challenges and best practices including:
Demonstrable understanding of fire safety legislation and best practice within social housing
Demonstrable understanding of electrical legislation and best practice within social housing, including EICR testing programmes, service and maintenance requirements of electrical based equipment such as automatic doors, gates, barriers, lifts.
Demonstrable understanding of asbestos legislation and best practice within social housing, including survey and re-inspection strategies, types of survey, asbestos registers, managing asbestos related actions, issues and incidents.
Good IT and communication skills are also essential as is a confident and flexible approach and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
Qualifications required for the role:
NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Management/IFE Approved Fire Risk Assessment Qualification or equivalent.
Fire Door Inspection Certificate.
P405 - Management of Asbestos in Buildings or P407- Managing Asbestos in Premises, Duty Holder Requirements.
CITB SMSTS or SSSTS.
A relevant technical/ building qualification to Level 4 or above.
IFSM membership or equivalent.
Full UK driving license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
