- support the Head of Compliance with the development and implementation of an annual Howden Tiger UK Compliance Plan, including tracking the activities and priorities of the dedicated compliance resources against the deliverables identified in the Compliance Plan;
- project manage compliance projects including setting up meetings, managing and preparing deliverables and reporting on progress.
- source and prepare relevant management information to the Head of Compliance and CRO and to relevant forums and committees on Risk & Compliance matters.
- engage with internal stakeholders across the Howden Tiger UK business divisions to find solutions that meet regulatory requirements in line with strategic commercial objectives.
- coordinate interactions with the divisional COOs and provide guidance on the operationalisation of the relevant regulatory requirements;
- participate in regulatory change projects as a key team member and prepare progress reports, when required.
- work with the Central Compliance team on completing the annual fitness and propriety assessments for the SMCR population in scope.
- act as the liaison point between Operations, Finance and Compliance to compile and review quarterly returns to the FCA.
- collaborate with the Compliance Monitoring team on completing BAU and scheduled thematic reviews.
- produce presentation material for internal training sessions and facilitate delivery.
- assist with the Implementation of controls to ensure that all employees have completed their mandatory training and CPD requirements.
- work collaboratively with the Central Sanctions team to facilitate the broking teams’ sanction screening processes and advise when escalation is required.
- liaise with the Business Support team where required and assist in responding to compliance and regulatory queries from the broking teams.
- Good knowledge of FCA requirements specifically relating to non-life insurance and reinsurance.
- Good knowledge of the FCA handbook.
- Good knowledge and understanding of (re)insurance, principles, products and services.
- Review of and/or input into Compliance policies and procedures relevant to the regulatory and legal jurisdictions of each Howden Tiger UK entity.
- Partner with the business leadership to find effective and efficient methods of simplifying and embedding compliance in their business processes.
- Proven experience working in a second line compliance role within a non-life (re)insurance broker / insurer, in a technical compliance role.
- Experience of reinsurance and commercial insurance products.
- Strong regulatory focus.
- Ability to respond to developments quickly and work independently at pace.
- Ability to articulate complex regulatory themes or requirements concisely.

- Compliance Industry recognised qualifications desirable but not essential depending on relevant experience.
