The outcome of the council's Total Pay and Reward review means the full-time salary for this position from 1 st April 2024 will be £26,873 to £27,334. The salary will be pro rata for part time and term time vacancies.
The Building Facilities team are seeking to recruit a Construction Assistant to work on the Building Facilities' helpdesk, based at their offices at County Hall, Beverley. This is an office-based role, with an element of home working (after a period of initial training).
The Building Facilities team manage a wide range of construction work including building maintenance and property refurbishment. This post requires an enthusiastic and motivated person to provide support to a team of surveyors and engineers delivering building maintenance and construction projects to a wide range of internal and external clients. You should be able to work both independently and within a team.
Your main role will be to undertake administration and support duties and to assist technical staff to managing their projects. This includes: Dealing with enquiries from clients, customers & contractors, Collecting, maintaining analysing & reporting on contract and feedback data, Processing task orders and payment certificates/invoices, Maintaining and updating data and project records.
You should have a good standard of education and be proficient in using, Microsoft Teams, Word, Outlook, and Excel. You will also be required to use other specialist in-house IT systems and training will be provided. You should have excellent customer care skills and be able to deal with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Experience working in a similar helpdesk or construction administration role would be advantageous.
