Role Overview: The client are currently seeking a Construction Estimator to join our busy department responsible for business development. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, contributing to the overall success of the company by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for prospective projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for new build and refurbishment projects in commercial, education, industrial, and leisure sectors. Manage pre-qualification, quality, and pre-bid submissions. Collaborate with the bid team to develop competitive and compelling tender submissions. Conduct thorough cost analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimates. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favorable terms. Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects, proposing effective mitigation strategies. Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation of all estimating activities. Identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process. Work closely with the Managing Estimator and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives. Support junior members of the estimating, surveying, and pre-construction team. Desirable Skills and Experience: Job Type: Full-time, office-based in Luton. Salary: Up to 50,000, dependent on experience. Standard Hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Benefits: On-site parking. Car allowance. Skills Required Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or related field preferred but not essential. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices. Experience in pricing projects, including single and two-stage tenders and negotiated opportunities. Proficient in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal and external stakeholders. Proven track record of delivering work-winning competitive tenders. Taking off experience required. Car driver.
