Role Overview: The client are currently seeking a Construction Estimator to join our busy department responsible for business development. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, contributing to the overall success of the company by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for prospective projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for new build and refurbishment projects in commercial, education, industrial, and leisure sectors. Manage pre-qualification, quality, and pre-bid submissions. Collaborate with the bid team to develop competitive and compelling tender submissions. Conduct thorough cost analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimates. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favorable terms. Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects, proposing effective mitigation strategies. Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation of all estimating activities. Identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process. Work closely with the Managing Estimator and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives. Support junior members of the estimating, surveying, and pre-construction team. Desirable Skills and Experience: Job Type: Full-time, office-based in Luton. Salary: Up to 50,000, dependent on experience. Standard Hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Benefits: On-site parking. Car allowance.
