Project Aims: To improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and overall living conditions for residents in accordance with regulatory standards and community needs.
- Oversee on-site activities including construction, installation, and retrofitting work to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any issues or discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor and manage resources, equipment, and materials to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Provide leadership and guidance to on-site personnel, including contractors, subcontractors, and project staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that workmanship and materials meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain open and transparent communication channels with all project stakeholders, including residents, community members, and project sponsors.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (10 years) in construction management, preferably in the construction or retrofitting industry, with a focus on social housing projects.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to retrofitting and energy efficiency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Certification in construction management or project management (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
- DBS Checked.
- Experience working on social housing retrofit projects or similar community-focused initiatives.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices, green technologies, and energy-efficient design principles.
- Knowledge of local community dynamics, socioeconomic factors, and cultural considerations affecting social housing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory and permitting processes, particularly in the social housing sector.
- Experience managing projects funded by government grants, subsidies, or public-private partnerships.
