Location: Singleton Campus, Swansea
Hours: 1 full-time position, 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Grade 4 £22,681 - £24,533 per annum together with NEST pension benefits. (Pro-rata for 17.5 hours)
As a Content Services Assistant, the post holder will work within Acquisitions & Document Supply, or Serials & Licencing with the expectation to support other Library Content teams during peak periods. The work is varied, challenging, and stimulating, requiring personal organisation, flexibility, and an ability to work to deadlines.
Key duties include
- Checking and processing requests for books or journals, identifying an optimum supply route that meets user need and achieves value for money.
- Creating and maintaining accurate orders and records using the Library Management system (Alma), the university finance system, spreadsheets, and/or supplier systems,
- Consulting with suppliers to resolve queries relating to content supply, referring complex queries as appropriate,
- Checking and processing invoices,
- Identifying work priorities and working to daily deadlines,
- Monitoring the team mailbox and dealing with queries from internal and external sources in a timely manner

- Proven clerical, administrative, and people skills within a relevant organisational environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good numeracy skills
- GCSE, grade C level and above in English and Maths or equivalent
- Proven IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of database systems.
- The ability to deal with complex queries requiring deliberation and further investigation.
