The Controls VP Role:

Job Responsibilities:
Working as part of a highly collaborative and successful Control Management team, in partnership with stakeholders, you will:
- Work closely with the business teams, getting first-hand insight into challenges faced by the business as they design and build products that will support our innovation strategy
- Lead the development of creative and innovative solutions to manage risks, ensuring that controls are properly designed and operating effectively
- Act as independent advisor and thought leader, collaborating effectively with our support partners to achieve a strong control framework
- Evaluate and perform ongoing analysis of the business’ operational risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses, determine root cause of control deficiencies and implement appropriate controls
- Provide support to ongoing business-related control programs and strategies (e.g., New Business Initiatives, change management, metrics development and reporting, control evaluation, issue management)
- Provide control committee governance support, including development of committee materials, minutes, and committee reporting.
Required Capabilities, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; solid critical thinking in technical scenarios
- Ability to synthesize information and formulate creative and innovative solutions to complex problems
- Attention to detail and strong time management, project management and collaboration skills to drive initiatives forward
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner
- Able to work effectively in agile environments, adaptable to shifting priorities and delivering value whilst dealing with high degrees of uncertainty and continuous change
- Strong stakeholder management skills - you are someone who is collaborative and can build meaningful professional relationships
- Experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
