Control Room Operator

We are looking for an organised, efficient, and experienced Control Room Operator to join our security Control Room Team at Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre, Europe's Largest Urban Shopping Centre. You will be working within a supportive team to maintain and monitor CCTV, intruder, and fire alarm panels.
As a Control Room Operator at the Security and Fire Control Centre (SFCC) in Westfield Stratford City, your role is critical in maintaining safety and security within the facility. You'll oversee essential functions, including radio coverage, CCTV monitoring, fire safety control, and incident management.
Your key responsibilities will include assisting with daily operational requirements - ensuring compliance and accurate recording of incidents to outline identified risks. As part of your role, you will be required to escalate incidents, report Health and Safety concerns, and respond to emergency situations also producing accurate reports to ensure alarms are efficiently responded to.
- Live Operation Management
-Radio Coverage and CCTV Monitoring:
-Continuously monitor radio communications and CCTV feeds.
-Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and anomalies.
-Make real-time decisions based on the information received.
-Ensure effective coverage across the entire facility.
-Fire Safety Control and Alarm Receiving:
-Handle fire alarm activations.
-Coordinate evacuation procedures.
-Communicate with fire safety personnel.
-Maintain accurate records of fire-related incidents.
-Health, Safety, and Welfare of Security Officers:
-Monitor the well-being of security officers on duty.
-Address any health or safety concerns promptly.
-Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Communication and Reporting
-Incident Management:
-Log all incidents in detail.
-Follow established incident management standards.
-Allocate officer attendance appropriately.
-Coordinate responses during emergencies.
-Business Communication:
-Centre manager
-Mitie Security Manager
-Mitie Operations Manager
-Other departments within the business
-Disseminate critical information to relevant parties:
-Provide timely updates on incidents.
-Daily Occurrence Log and Reporting:
-Maintain an accurate Daily Occurrence Log.
-Prepare concise Daily Flash Reports.
-Document serious incidents and timelines.
- Personnel Management
-Manpower Provision:
-Plan staffing levels within the Control Room.
-Ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
-Officer Positions and Breaks:
-Monitor officer positions on the malls
-Conduct audits to verify officers are on post.
-Prioritize health and safety during breaks.
-Control Room Standards:
-Uphold access and egress regulations.
-Ensure visitor compliance.
-Maintain a professional appearance within the Control Room.
- Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of 1 year working in a Control Room.
-Relevant industry experience is essential.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Pay Scale: £14.86 per hour.
