Our client is one of the UK’s leading house-builders, committed to the highest standards of design, construction and service. Due to retirement our client now has an opportunity for an experienced Conveyancer to join their in-house property team.
The Role
* Reporting to the company Solicitor and Legal Manager
* Direct responsibility for managing and running your own case load of plot sales (including part- exchange acquisitions and releases )
* Preparing individual plot documentation and part exchange title reports
* Monitoring caseload and preparing reports
* Attending meetings with the sales team to review caseload
* Dealing with post completion matters such as SDLT returns and land Registration where necessary
* Advising and assisting on issues which arise during plot sales and part exchange transactions and where appropriate, dealing with plot sales and part exchange transactions
* Dealing with lease/transfer variations and reversion sales
* Dealing with the recovery of retentions (Non- litigious)
* Handling post completion matters such as SDLT returns and Land Registration where necessary
* Carrying our AML checks
Candidate
* You will be an experienced and motivated Conveyancer or Fee Earner able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of residential conveyancing, practice and procedure
* Qualification through the Institute of Legal Executives, Council of Licensed Conveyancers or to at least degree level in law would be an advantage
* Previous experience of handling plot sales for a residential house builder (either in house or in private practice) would be a distinct advantage
* The successful candidate will be able to work with modern computer-based technology
* You will be self-motivated, adaptable , have good team and communication skills
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
